   Here are some images from Tanzania and Rwanda from my visit there in March, 2008.
We took a ferry to Zanzibar about 90 minutes from Dar Es Salaam. There is something very peaceful about a latern rigged dhou.This three year old girl and her five year old brother have AIDS. The Gacaca Courts, held outside to try those accused of taking part in the Genocide of 1994, are an effective way of restoring hope and justice.Local school children present plays and songs that deal with the issue of reconcilation, while the accused sit impassively - watching.School children at the Gacaca courts - reneacting the drama of the GenocideWe had just finished getting the school children at this school in Gisenyi to do hand prints on calico sheets, when it started to rain.
